The Plumbing Level 1 Challenge Course is designed for individuals seeking to validate their skills and knowledge in the plumbing industry. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of essential plumbing principles, focusing on installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems. It is ideal for those preparing for certification assessments or looking to formalize their plumbing experience.

Program Structure

  • Program Schedule:
    • Start Date: April 05 – May 17, 2025
    • Class Hours: 9:00AM – 4:30PM ( Saturdays)
    • Modality: In-person / Live with Instructor
  • Duration: 6 weeks
  • Venue: Ace Trades and Technical Institute, 9486 120 street, Surrey, BC, V3V 4B9


Requirements for Enrollment

To enroll in any of the Level 1 Challenge Courses, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Experience: Must have some experience in the Plumbing Trade
  • Work-Based Training Hours: Completion of 1,800 work-based training hours (1+ year) in the trade.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the fundamental principles of plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and venting.
  • Perform basic plumbing installation tasks, such as fitting pipes and installing fixtures.
  • Identify and apply plumbing codes and regulations to ensure compliance with local standards.
  • Utilize plumbing tools and equipment safely and effectively in various tasks.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot common plumbing issues and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Apply safety protocols and best practices while working in plumbing environments.
  • Develop effective communication skills for working with clients and team members in the plumbing field.
  • Prepare for the Level 1 Plumbing certification exam, focusing on key topics and practical skills.
